Originally manufactured in 1982, this iconic Jeep CJ-7 underwent a transformation by ICON 4×4 in 2011 and received further modernization, culminating in a meticulous restoration in its original color by Classic Car Studio in 2023. Boasting a well-documented provenance, the vehicle maintains its authenticity, having been carefully preserved and restored by ICON.

Initially, this CJ-7 started its journey as a robust Limited Edition truck. As of 2021, it retained its original mileage at just 27,000, showcasing its enduring quality. Seeking to actualize a modern version of the CJ7 Limited, the current owner entrusted the truck to Classic Car Studio in 2023.

As a recipient of an early Corvette LS1 swap, the owner aimed to elevate the engine to contemporary LS standards. Classic Car Studio, in pursuit of enhancing an already remarkable platform, replaced the engine with a new GM Performance LS3, controlled by a Holley Terminator system. The engine, meticulously painted in the correct AMC blue, mirrors the original Jeep’s finish.

Extensive undercarriage detailing was undertaken to restore the Jeep to a like-new condition, reflecting the level of craftsmanship synonymous with its ICON heritage.

Subsequently, the truck underwent a comprehensive transformation. Disassembled to facilitate a thorough color change, the old paint was meticulously sanded off, preparing the vehicle for a fresh coat. Applying 3 coats of BASF Glasurit, followed by 5 coats of clear, and meticulous sanding and buffing, Classic Car Studio delivered a show-worthy finish, revitalizing this 1982 Jeep CJ-7 into a stunning testament to automotive craftsmanship.

The interior of the 1982 CJ7 has retained its original finish, meticulously completed by ICON in 2011. Adorned in black vinyl upholstery with tan Chilewich inserts, the cabin exudes a sophisticated charm. Noteworthy features include an Alcantara headliner, heated front bucket seats, a rear bench seat, and a secure, locking Tuffy center console.

Enhancing both safety and style, the interior boasts a roll bar, complemented by an Alpine stereo system paired with high-quality Focal speakers. Practicality meets design with the inclusion of a lockable drawer in the rear cargo area. The CJ-7 also features additional interior enhancements, such as an upgraded Vintage Air system.

Behind the three-spoke steering wheel, a prominent 85-mph speedometer takes center stage, flanked by inset readouts for coolant temperature and fuel level. Supplementary gauges for oil pressure and voltage provide comprehensive insights into the vehicle’s performance.

For Jeep enthusiasts seeking the pinnacle of CJ-7 builds, this CJ boasts both the pedigree and components to distinguish you from the crowd.
