The Cooper S was the brainchild of John Cooper, of Cooper Car Company. Cooper ran a Formula 1 team, and after driving the new Austin Mini saw a ton of potential in what was designed to be a convenient commuter car. Over 4 years of manufacturing, just over 12,000 Cooper S models were built making them a pretty rare find today.

This 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S Mark 1 is a US built car that spent much of its life in California. Built in October of 1966 and delivered in November in Los Angeles, the Cooper S was originally finished in Tartan Red and Black. The car comes with a British Motor Industry certificate.
