Among the most elegant and iconic body styles every to come from Crewe, England this rare and elegant Bentley S1 was produced only between 1955 and 1959 and shares all but the radiator and badging with the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I of the same period. Utilizing a considerably updated chassis and engine configuration over the previous R-type Bentley, the redesigned S-type was luxurious and competent on the road, with a 120 miles per hour top end cruising speed and able to complete the run from 0-60 in a mere 12.9 seconds despite the car’s not inconsiderable weight and appointments.

Famed for their rugged reliability in the early days of auto racing with four consecutive 24 Hours of Lemans victories between 1927 and 1930, and celebrated for their luxury following their acquisition by Rolls Royce in 1931, the Bentley range has long been the source of serious interest by the most knowledgeable collectors, and continues to hold a very special position among collector and production automobiles to this day.

Elegantly finished in Shell Grey and Black Pearl Valspar with Grey leather upholstery, this rare 1958 Bentley S1 was originally delivered to P.J. Evans LTD. of Birmingham UK, on October 1, 1958 as a factory Coach Built car with power assisted steering and A/C.

This elegant and rare right hand drive 1958 Bentley S1 has recorded history in the UK with two owners through 1963, has been lightly cosmetically restored with original interior, and is a sound driver condition example of this special English classic.

For the Bentley enthusiast or collector seeking a drivable and enjoyable classic 1958 S1, these special and collectible touring saloons are few and far between, with fully restored examples becoming significantly more expensive all the time. The savvy Bentley aficionado will quickly seize upon this rare opportunity!
