At Classic Car Studio, we transformed a rusted 1956 Ford F-600 crew cab, worn from decades of farm work, into a stunning custom truck that blends vintage style with modern performance. When it arrived, the F-600 was rough, with only the cab worth saving. But we saw its potential and built something extraordinary.
We crafted a one-off chassis with a Porterbuilt dropmember sub-frame, tubular control arms, and Detroit Speed rack-and-pinion steering. The rear features a Porterbuilt 4-link setup with a narrowed 14-bolt rearend. Goodyear air bags, Accuair components, and Viair compressors allow a fully adjustable ride height, letting the truck lay flat on 22-inch Alcoa semi wheels (turned down from 22.5 inches) while keeping its dually stance. Late-model GM power brakes ensure confident stopping power.
We fabricated a custom crew cab with suicide rear doors, a handmade roof, floor, valance, and grille, paired with a bespoke bed featuring rounded corners and a zebrawood insert for elegance. A Cummins 24-valve 6.7L engine from D&J Precision Machine powers it, positioned with a new firewall and paneling for a perfect fit. We painted the exterior in Ford’s Area 51 Blue, buffed to a mirror-like shine with clearcoat, for a timeless yet modern look.
Inside, we built a bronze-painted custom dash with a Dakota Digital gauge cluster and a matching center console. Our upholstery specialist, Laura Semaan, crafted Relicate leather seats in rich chocolate tones. Zebrawood accents unify the interior and exterior, while a Kicker audio system, Old Air Products climate control, and a hidden sub enclosure add luxury.
This F-600 took over 8,500 hours and three years to complete, with every detail perfected. It’s not just a truck—it’s a masterpiece and a true icon in the custom truck scene.
