1994 BMW 850 CSI

While the M8 Prototype was never produced, there was a limited production car that came very close to the car that many enthusiasts longed for. It was called the 850 CSi, and aside from sporting an M-tuned engine, the car's VIN identifies the vehicle as being built by BMW Motorsport (identified by the WBS prefix) instead of BMW AG (WBA prefix).

The 850 CSi used the same engine as the 850i which was tuned so significantly that it was assigned a new engine code: S70B56. The modifications included a capacity increase to 5.7 liters, and a power increase to 380 BHP(283 kW385PS). A testiment to its implied place at the BMW Motorsport table, the CSi was only offered with a 6-Speed manual transmission.

The 850 CSi's modified suspension included stiffer, shorter springs which reduced the ride height, and also stiffer damper settings. The 850 CSi also rode on wider wheels, and was offered with optional forged alloy rims. The car's front valance featured a sportier, reshaped design, and the rear bumper was redesigned around four round stainless pipes. The 6 speed manual transmission came standard with the 850 CSi.

Of the 225 US spec 850 CSi's that came to US, there were only 5 built in this color combination. This 850 CSi was the 2nd out of 5 built in this color combination, and world wide, it was the 8th built out of 13 in this color combination. This stunning car just had its Inspection II completed by BMW in February of 2008, and is ready for your enjoyment!
