Perhaps the first of the last of the large body high performance coupes, the 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS 427 was by many accounts already passe at its introduction in the same year. While younger buyers with a taste for performance were shopping for the lighter weight sports variants coming off the assembly lines in Detroit, Chevrolet was making a last bid to take the middle—seeking to appeal to the other customers who sought the power of the smaller sportier cars but resisted sacrificing the comfort and luxury of the full-frame cars they had come to know and love.

This carefully and fully rotisserie restored 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS 427 convertible is stunningly finished in code correct Bolero Red with correct Red interior, and is equipped with its numbers matching original 3904351 casting IE code 427cid 385hp V8, with original 702710 Rochester carburetor, original 3851325 4-speed manual transmission, original 3894860 rear end, original 3857584 tail shaft, original 3883948 intake manifold, original 3884604 exhaust manifold, original 3899621 bell housing, original J6 heads, original 6-J20 alternator, and much more.

With a mere 2,124 of these exceptionally rare SS 427 Impalas produced, a slight fraction of which were convertibles, these end of an era masterpieces are profoundly uncommon and rarely well restored. For the serious Impala collector or enthusiast, this very powerful, smooth running, painstakingly restored, and handsome SS 427 convertible is among the very best examples available of this period classic.
