Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

SOLD
  • Year: 1954
  • Make: Chevrolet
  • Model: Bel Air/150/210

While originally devised as a means for competing with Ford in the 50’s, the Chevrolet Bel air quickly gained a life and reputation of its own, and of the Bel Airs which captured the imaginations of young and old, few have proven to be so iconic and rare as the Bel Air Sport Coupe.

Among the most classic and least common of these robust automobiles, this restored 1954 Horizon Blue, with beautifully kept blue interior, Bel Air Sport Coupe, is a superb example of this timeless collectible. A tour-de-force in automotive design for the time-these somewhat more restrained and tastefully styled Bel Air Coupes echo the sensibilities of the American automotive consciousness prior to the exuberant dominance of Harley Earl designs, and the economic certainty which the mid-1950s brought to North American culture.

With lines which evoke the simplicity of purpose and design of a less complicated time, this remarkable Onyx Black with black and white interior 1954 Bel Air Sport Coupe features: potent and reliable Blue Flame Six, three-speed manual column shift transmission, two owners since new, what all sources indicate to be 43,439 original miles, original framed dealer invoice with the original salesman’s signature and business card, shop manual, vintage promotional literature, vintage 1957 Rand McNally Amoco road maps from the Maryland area where the car lived its life until now, the original warranty service card, original registration card, and original owners manual.

This very carefully cared for and very largely original 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe is a stunning example of this 1950’s icon of engineering, and a special and highly collectible piece of American automotive history, and a car which the true enthusiasts will lust after!
