This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was a solid Colorado car prior to restoration, and what followed was a complete nut and bolt, rotisserie restoration where the car was media blasted down to a bare shell inside and out. At the time of the ad, the car has just over 30 test miles and is immaculate from top to bottom.

The Fastback has a two stage paint job on top of nice body work on the top side, and has an exceptionally detailed undercarriage done in gloss black. Aside from two front floor pans, and the bottom of one rear quarter, the body has original sheet metal. Also added during the restoration is the Shelby style hood and front valance which really set off the clean look. The stainless and chrome is a combination of restored and replaced parts and all of the body rubber has been replaced as well. All of the glass is new with the exception of the rear window. Don’t miss the undercarriage photos! It is exceptionally detailed and nicer than these cars ever were when they were new.

Have a peek inside the interior and you will find an entirely new interior kit with all new soft parts. The gauges have been restored and look sharp sitting inside the freshly painted dash.

During the restoration, all the suspension and steering parts were replaced as well. The upper and lower control arms were blasted at the same time as the body and carry the same detailed sheen as the rest of the undercarriage. All of the shocks are new, as are the tie rods, ball joints, and springs. Also rebuilt was the entire brake system including the front discs, brake lines, brake hoses, rear drums and master cylinder. The wheels are the tried and true American Racing Torque Thrust set up and are clad in a new BF TA tires.

The engine is a 302 that was rebuilt at the time of the restoration and sports a set of FloTek heads, Edelbrock intake, Summit Racing carb, and Mallory ignition. The motor is quick revving and makes great reliable power. It sounds killer as well, exhaling through a set of stainless Tri Y headers and an aluminized exhaust system. The car has a great rumble at idle and sounds the part under harder acceleration as well. A 4-speed transmission rows through the gears, the 8" rear end has been rebuilt and uses 3.50 gearing.

For the Mustang enthusiast looking for a drivable show car, the Pony is the hot ticket.
