This Chevy Corvette Z06 has just over 15,000 miles since new and has been always kept in a climate controlled garage. The car has a beautifully kept exterior with all original factory paint and a wonderful shine. The interior shows just like a low mileage, all original car should. The leather is still soft and supple and the carpets, door panels and dash are free of any sun damage.

Representing the flagship of the performance side of Chevrolet, the C5 Corvette Z06 debuted in 2001 with a throwback model name to the C2 Z06 from the early 1960’s. The model used a highly tuned version of the LS1 which was called the LS6 in this application. Although looking nearly identical to the standard LS1 motor, the LS6 has a number of notable differences. The motor used a stronger alloy piston, higher compression, a higher profile camshaft and larger fuel injectors, and larger exhaust manifolds. The motor produced 385 horsepower and was often said to be underrated by a good 20 horses. The motor exhaled through specially designed titanium exhaust system which was a very rare option back in 2001.

The Z06 utilizes the specially built 6-speed manual transmission. While outwardly similar to the base-model MM6 manual transmission, the M12 transmission is unique to the Z06. As with all C5 Corvettes, the transmission is located toward the rear of the vehicle, as a rear-mounted transaxle assembly. This allows a better overall weight distribution for the vehicle, as the weight of the transmission offsets some of the weight of the forward-sitting engine.

For the Corvette enthusiast looking for an excellent and competent ride, the Corvette is not only good looking, but has the performance to back it up.
