Ford Customline

SOLD
  • Year: 1955
  • Make: Ford
  • Model: Customline

Built in the style of a hot rodded 1950’s sedan, this tastefully executed, rotisserie restored 1955 Ford Customline is not only unique, but has benefited from a very high level restoration.

Originally sold in the Pacific Northwest, the car has only 4 owners since new and had low original miles prior to restoration. The body of the car was media blasted to remove old paint and the car was blocked out and finished to perfection. While on the rotisserie, the original floor boards were blasted and refinished as well. They are a site to see with their high gloss black finish. Next the frame was blasted and powdercoated and all of the suspension components were rebuilt and refinished to show quality. The chrome, trim and glass are all in excellent condition and really shine against the Indigo Blue backdrop.

Next came the powertrain, a mildly built 428 Cobra Jet with an 800 CFM Edelbrock carburetor, Hi-Po Ford Motor Co. Aluminum intake, ported and polished 406 heads, and a nice Comp Cam. This puppy is a runner, stump puller and a looker all on one package. As with the rest of the car, the engine compartment is highly detailed, and complemented by the jewel of a motor nestled in between layers of a gloss finished bay. The exhaust manifolds have been Jet coated for durability and the custom exhaust system sounds incredible. The C6 transmission was built with a shift kit and has a billet transmission cooler. It pops off nice shifts and is a nice compliment to the powdercoated Ford 9" rear end out back.

The interior retains its classical styling complimented by all new finishes and appointments. It’s quiet, comfortable and full of detail work found in nice restorations. Stomp the gas pedal and the car rockets off from a dead stop in a full tire spinning ruckus if you desire, or conversely at a leisurely cruising pace as not to offend the masses, or the law. "No officer, not drag racing, just picking up mother from church."

These Fords are rare and it’s even more rare to see them finished to this level, both in terms of style and quality. Want something unique? Try this mild custom on for size.
