Plymouth Barracuda

SOLD
  • Year: 1966
  • Make: Plymouth
  • Model: Barracuda

The stylish original Plymouth Barracuda was built on the A-body chassis, common to several other vehicles manufactured by Chrysler, including the popular Dodge Dart. The first generation Barracuda’s claim to fame was its enormous fastback wrap-around rear window – considered the largest piece of automotive glass ever installed at that time. A direct spin-off of the existing Valiant series, the Barracuda appealed to a sportier market, and actually preceded by three weeks what many people consider the first Pony car – the Ford Mustang.

Finished in a gorgeous red over black interior, the 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S has been very nicely restored. It is now equipped with the powerful 340 CI engine, coupled with a 727 automatic transmission and a Suregrip rear-end. Nicely dressed with factory bucket seats, console, Weld Racing wheels, a rare 150 MPH speedometer, and featureing the vehicles original Certicard, the Barracuda Formula S is sure to be a rare joy for but one lucky owner!
