We received this beautifully restored AMC Rambler earlier in the week for some tuning work. The car had a total engine rebuild last year but the motor sputered and ran really rough in the low RPM range and would cut out a lot of the time when taking off from a stop. Dave, our most methodical of mechanics traced the problems back to numerous vacuum leaks and some ignition problems as well. We’ve upgraded the ignition system from the points to a new, “hotter” Ignitor II set up which performs awesome and you’d never know it wasn’t factory. After a valve adjustment, some new vacuum line, and a few new seals, the car runs as smooth as new. I think her owner will be very happy.
