Until the point when trucks became mainstream for daily driving, most were used for work purposes. While some might be well maintained from a mechanical standpoint, hard use wears on over the years and they are some of the roughest older vehicles we see. That being said, every once in awhile, a really choice restoration sneaks through into the showroom.

This 1978 Ford F250 is the recipient of a complete frame off restoration. These highboy F250s are hard to find period, and we rarely see one that is done to this level. This thing has the look, and you can drive it anywhere you please.

During the restoration, the entire body was pulled off the frame and both were stripped down to bare metal. The body has been properly sanded, is very straight, and has a high-quality base/clear, two-tone paint job. The trim is a combination of restored original and replacement and all of the rubber is new throughout.

The truck features a brand new interior with new seats, door panels, carpeting, headliner panel, and refinished dash. The stereo is a modern unit that looks vintage, however, it fits in the original radio slot without trashing the dash. Keeping things cool is a properly working AC system.

The engine is a rebuilt 460 with a mild cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, and a 750 Holley Carb with an electric choke. Running the front components and the AC compressor is a March Engineering serpentine setup. Dual exhaust exits in the back of the truck and the 460 sounds nice the throaty without being overbearing. The differentials are Dana 40 up from and Dana 60 in the rear and the trans is a built C6.
