This 1970 Chevy Stepside is Southern truck that received a cosmetic and mechanical restoration a few years ago. It was rebuilt very close to factory specification, is reliable as the day is long and ready to cruise or take to local shows. She is also a real 115 inch wheelbase short bed from the factory.

The body did not require the extensive work that most old vehicles require as it was solid through and through. After it was stripped to bare metal, and the usual block sanding, it received a brand new base/clear paint job and all new rubber trim all the way around. The glass on the truck is original and in good condition, and all the original plastic lenses have been replaced. The stainless trim is largely original and has been polished, and the chrome is all new. The bed is all new oak and features new stainless hardware. The undercarriage is finished is in a durable satin black finish and the suspension and steering components have been rebuilt.

Power comes from the tried and true Chevy 327 which sits in a nicely refinished and detailed engine compartment. The inner fenders have been finished in a shiny gloss black and the firewall is painted body color. The transmission is 3-on-the-tree and shifts smoothly through the gears and the rear end is a 12-bolt posi unit.

The Chevy is simply built and could be driven anywhere reliably. It has a comfortable ride, mellow exhaust and is ready to cruise. We’ve seen these shortbed C10s appreciate steadily in recent years – don’t miss this opportunity to get into an increasingly popular segment of the classic truck market at a very reasonable price.
