The result of a complete frame-off, rotisserie restoration, this 1968 Chevy C-10 hotrod custom is one mean street machine.
Power comes from a potent 496 big block engine which propels this sleek truck down the road with a sense of urgency. The motor makes over 500 HP and is equipped with a Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock RPM intake, MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD ignition box, and Edelbrock fuel pump. A Billet serpentine belt system keeps all of the components neat and tidy. The truck utilizes ceramic coated long tube headers that flow into a beefy 3" exhaust. The exhaust note is a downright wicked one, with an aggressive lope courtesy of the performance camshaft. Keeping the engine cool is an oversized aluminum radiator with dual Spal electric fans. This motor means business and the rest of the drive train is no slouch either.
The transmission is a Tremec TKO 600 transmission, the premier aftermarket, 5-speed option. The fifth gear provides a large RPM drop which takes this truck from an amazing strip runner to an excellent highway cruiser. Weighing in at just 99 lbs, the mighty Tremec offers up to 600 lbs/ft. of tq. capacity. The C-10 uses a custom driveshaft, and the 12 bolt posi rear end gives the truck some much needed traction.
The body on the Chevy is clean and straight. It features exceptional bodywork, and a hand finished paint that really pops. The trucks has been stripped of most of its trim giving it an extra clean look. The only remaining trim is a newly chromed front bumper. For extreme durability the bed has been finished with Rhino liner that will live up to all types of use, although with a truck this clean, we doubt you will be doing much hauling. Cleaning up those annoying wing windows is a trick one piece glass kit for the side windows. Speaking of the glass, the front and rear windows are new as well as are all the signal lenses. The interior is simple and very well done, complete with a comfortable modern bench seat, a modern rendition of the original gauges, and a modern Kenwood 4 speaker system. For safety, shoulder harness belts have been installed.
