2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe

On August 27th 2002 the final 2002 Chevy Camaro rolled off the assembly line at the Boisbriand plant in Canada but not without a nod to the enthusiasts that supported the Camaro for 35 straight years. Enter the 35th Anniversary Special Edition Camaro available in coupe or convertible form. With just 3000 total cars built for the US market and just a hair over 150 produced for the Canadian market, these final edition 4th generation cars were destined to be a collectors item.

In order to get one of these beasts dedicated Chevrolet owners first had to put down $22,495 for a Z28 coupe or $29,390.00 for a Z28 convertible. Next came a $3,625 investment for the "SS Performance/Apprearance Package which got the exited new owner the 325 HP aluminum V8, a forced air induction hood, 17" aluminum wheels, SS specific rear spoiler, Hi perf. ride and handling suspension, low restriction dual outlet exhaust system and SS badging. Finally with another $2,500 for the 35th Anniversary Special Edition the car was completed with the Bright Rally Red exterior with stripe package, special black SS wheels with machined edges, 35th Anniversary badging on the exterior and dashboard, 35th Anniversary emblem embroidered into the front seats, Anodized brake calipers, Special Ebony/Pewter leather seating surfaces, and Special Trophy Mat in Ebony vinyl with embroidered 35th Anniversary emblem.

The 35th Anniversary cars list of Standard Equipment was actually far from ordinary. Starting with the Corvette derived LS1 aluminum 5.7 liter V8 engine, this cars were reeling in 0-60 times at just a hair over 5 seconds right off the showroom floor! Sounds like a Muscle Car to us! This car has the smooth shifting 4 speed transmission and the power sticks to the pavement with the Acceleration Slip Regulation option. With the convertible top down, the tunes really crank with the 500 watt Monsoon premium stereo. Power options don't fall short either with power doors, power windows, power trunk/hatch release, Six-way power driver's seat, twin electric sport mirrors and a leather wrapped steering wheel with duplicate radio controls.

Driven just 8,500 miles since she rolled off the line, this two owner car was first purchased by a GM employee in Detroit. Next the car went to a collector in St. Louis where the car has remained in pristine condition speeding most of its time in the garage with some occasional weekend cruise time. The interior is spotless, the engine compartment is immaculate and the undercarriage looks showroom clean. Driven less than a thousand miles per year since new we didn't expect any less. Spring time is here so don't procrastinate on snatching up this final 4th gen. masterpiece.
